Program Trends
Every
year, there are certain trends in the new season. Last
year, the trend was to attempt to clone the popularity
of Friends. This year the following trends seem to be
holding true:
“Clone
the X-Files”
There
are a number of new programs with high
concepts involving aliens, government
conspiracies, and unexplainable phenomenon

“Bring
Back Former Series Stars”
1996/1997
will see the return of a multitude of
former series stars including Bill Cosby,
Annie Potts, Scott Bakula and the casts
of Thirtysomething (Ken Olin and
Mel Harris), Cheers (Ted Danson
and Rhea Perlman), and Family Ties
(Michael J. Fox and Justine Bateman)

“Spin-off
a Popular Movie”
1996/1997
will see the television incarnations of
Dangerous Minds, Clueless,
and Silence of the Lambs (in the
form of the series Profiler)

“Remember
that one network's garbage is another
network's fall schedule”
In
addition to the cancelled Jeff Foxworthy
Show finding a home on NBC, JAG
and The Naked Truth will probably
be picked up by CBS as mid-season replacements.
And this listing does not even include
the cancelled shows being picked up by
UPN and WB.
