My Two Seasons

Last year, FOX decided on a year-round program schedule with new shows debuting continuously (including Summer, Fall and Winter). Additionally, a number of programs (such as Alias and 24) shared time slots in order to run uninterrupted airings FOX’s year-round strategy did not work as well as intended. Additionally, ABC abandoned the shared-timeslot concept after Desperate Housewives (which was originally set for only half a season) performed beyond expectations. In 2005/2006, FOX still has significant changes starting in 1Q as a result of American Idol (plus 24 which will once again air uninterrupted); however, the rest of the Networks are pretty much back to a typical year-round schedule with minor exceptions (such as ABC’s programming changes post-football). Accordingly, for 2005/2006 we will not be doing two separate season reviews, but rather a single review (with notations where necessary to accommodate FOX).
