Crossing Jordan
NBC: Monday at 10:00pm (Hour Drama)

Premise

Jill Hennessy stars as Jordan Cavannaugh, a medical examiner returning to work at the Boston Coroner's office. While valued for her skills, her strong history of insubordination is expected to stir up trouble with her superiors.

Ms. Quincy, M.E.

Familiar Faces

Jill Hennessy (Law and Order), Ken Howard (The White Shadow), Miguel Ferrer

Our Take

Considering that a number of cast members are leaving Family Law, Crossing Jordan may have an opportunity to gain some female viewership. This program will also benefit from Hennessy’s established popularity from Law and Order.

Expect to Hear

“I cut up dead people for a living. It’s a great way to manage your anger." - Dr. Jordan Cavannaugh

One on One
UPN: Monday at 8:30pm (Half-Hour Sitcom)

Premise

Single father Flex (Flex Alexander) is forced to become more responsible when he takes in his outspoken, fifteen-year-old daughter Kyla (Kyla Pratt).

This concept was done as far back as 1980 as the NBC series Me and Maxx

Familiar Faces

<None>

Our Take

We expect that One on One will probably fare as well as the other UPN shows against an ethnic skewing audience.

Expect to Hear

“Have you tried talking to her? Now, I know you’re going to say we never talked to you, but look how you turned out…Learn from our mistakes.” - Grandmother (on raising children)

Emma Brody [Mid-Season]
FOX: Monday at 9:00pm (Hour Drama)

Premise

In this series which will be occupying Ally McBeal’s time slot in the spring, a young woman from Toledo, Ohio accepts a job at the U.S. embassy in London. Besides helping Americans in need, Emma Brody will also find herself involved with the Royal family and the C.I.A.

Felicity goes to London

Familiar Faces

Arija Bareikas (Deuce Bigelow)

Our Take

Emma Brody appears to be more on the drama side than Ally McBeal which may cost it some of Ally’s viewers. The key issue is what ABC will be airing after football season.

Expect to Hear

“Living is about making mistakes, Emma. Dying is about wishing you made more.” - Dewey Johnson
