In
the seventh (and final) season premiere, MacGyver
agrees to do what seems to be a small favor
for his friend Phil: to escort Phil's father
Abe to the bar mitzvah of Phil's son Jeffrey.
However, Abe asks MacGyver to make a slight
detour to pick up a package and the Phoenix
troubleshooter reluctantly agrees. Unfortunately,
when he picks up the package, MacGyver is attacked
by a man named Lamana. MacGyver eludes capture
and then confronts Abe as to the reason behind
the attack. Abe responds by revealing that Lamana,
a member of a security detail from Harding Aeronautics,
is after him because he stole a top secret attack
helicopter. He further explains that he is a
former CIA agent and needs the helicopter to
pull off an aborted CIA mission: the capture
of a terrorist named Peugot from a hostile country
with no extradition. Meanwhile, Harding Aeronautics
security squad members Lamana, Elliot and Major
Sneed are instructed to pursue and eliminate
MacGyver and Abe. Later, MacGyver awakens in
the helicopter (after having been knocked out
by Abe when the Phoenix troubleshooter expressed
some concerns over the "mission") and agrees
to help Abe by posing as an arms dealer. MacGyver
and Abe then meet with Peugot and try to trick
the terrorist into boarding the helicopter.
Unfortunately, Peugot catches on and MacGyver
and Abe are captured. Lamana, Elliot, and Sneed
then free Abe and MacGyver when the three men
reveal that they are actually undercover government
agents and Abe is operating under authority
from the CIA. However, although this escape
attempt proves unsuccessful, MacGyver uses his
ingenuity (in tricking Peugot in to helping
him to activate the helicopter's armaments).
Thereby, Peugot is captured and they all escape
in the helicopter. As the episode ends, MacGyver
and Abe arrive too late for Jeffrey's bar mitzvah.

As
this episode begins, MacGyver moves in to a
new apartment and meets two of his new neighbors:
his landlord (lawyer turned sculptor) Melvin
Krasney and Kelly Dobbs, an aspiring actress.
After meeting MacGyver, Kelly fills in as a
manicurist for her friend Molly Densmore (so
that Molly will not lose her Job). Unfortunately,
Kelly ends up on the run after accidentally
overhearing a man named J. Leland Knox (her
client) hire a killer named Bobbie Lee to assassinate
Victor Nesbett, an accountant who is testifying
about the misuse of a pension fund. MacGyver
soon finds out about Kelly's problems when Mel
is called in to identify what the police believe
to be Kelly's dead body. However, the dead woman
is actually Molly. Later, Mamma Lorraine, a
beauty shop owner and spiritual advisor, dreams
Kelly is in trouble and enlists MacGyver's aid.
Kelly, who is still on the run, informs a meter
maid that she will be hiding in a deserted theater.
The police inform Mama Lorraine of Kelly's location
and MacGyver is dispatched to the scene. Unfortunately,
Bobbie Lee arrives at the theater as well, Kelly
is captured, and MacGyver is left to die on
a prop torture rack. MacGyver escapes and tracks
Bobbie Lee through a matchbook that the killer
dropped. Fortunately, with Mamma's help, Kelly
is freed from Will (Bobbie Lee's partner). Mama
Lorraine then uses her involvement with vodoo
to scare Will into revealing Bobbie Lee's destination.
Thereby, MacGyver soon locates and captures
Bobbie Lee.

After
MacGyver starts to receive phone calls from
a supposedly dead Murdoc, he starts to have
nightmares about the assassin. MacGyver's obsession
with Murdoc soon attracts the attention of Cindy
Finnegan, the Phoenix Foundation's new manager
of field operations, who accuses MacGyver of
suffering from stress. Supporting Finnegan's
case is the fact that Murdoc's dead body had
been previously identified. (It is unclear when
Murdoc's body was discovered as no body was
found when Murdoc apparently fell to his "death"
in the sixth season episode "Strictly Business.")
Regardless, MacGyver continues to handle security
for the trial of deposed dictator Pablo Delasora.
However, MacGyver's credibility suffers when
the Phoenix troubleshooter tackles the wrong
man after seeing Murdoc shoot a dart outside
the courtroom. Later, MacGyver receives another
phone call from Murdoc. The Phoenix troubleshooter
traces the call to a warehouse where he discovers
photographs of the courtroom as well as a picture
of Marietta Orblus, a woman from Delasora's
country that has been assembling evidence against
the former dictator. Since there is a dart through
Marietta's picture, MacGyver immediately rushes
to her aid. Once there, he discovers a chess
pawn located under Marietta's car. MacGyver
then realizes that he was tricked (i.e. used
as a "pawn"). Meanwhile, Murdoc plants a bomb
in Delasora's hotel, Although the bomb's explosion
fails to kill the dictator, the fact that a
bomb went off convinces the authorities to fire
Phoenix and assign the dictator's security to
a military unit. Under pressure from Finnegan,
Pete then fires MacGyver since the evidence
from the warehouse has disappeared. (Afterwards,
Pete explains that he only temporarily gave
in to Finnegan so that MacGyver would be able
to operate without worrying about The Phoenix
manager's intervention.) MacGyver soon proceeds
to the army base that Delasora was taken to.
He then discovers that Delasora is running the
base with the help of "General" Murdoc. Unfortunately,
MacGyver is soon captured, as is Marietta. Murdoc,
hoping to take his revenge on MacGyver, leaves
the captured Phoenix troubleshooter to die under
a missile that Delasora plans on launching at
his native country. MacGyver uses his ingenuity
to escape and soon frees Marietta and stops
Delasora. Murdoc is then caught in an exploding
Jeep when the assassin once again tries to kill
MacGyver. The Jeep is later searched but there
is no sign of Murdoc's body. Thereby, MacGyver
is not surprised when he later receives another
taunting call from the assassin.

A
series of arson bombings have recently plagued
the city and, as a result, MacGyver and the
Phoenix Foundation are called on to help find
Prometheus, the psychopath behind the fires.
While MacGyver and Earl Stringer, the head of
the fire department's arson squad, begin to
trace Prometheus based on the style and components
of the bombs, an uncooperative firefighter named
Rachel only wants to consider the bomber's psychology.
Prometheus then surprises the arson squad and
warns them of the next bombing. MacGyver and
Earl rush to the threatened building. Unfortunately,
MacGyver is unable to disarm the bomb and Earl
is killed. Afterwards, Rachel takes over the
arson squad and fires MacGyver. Nevertheless,
MacGyver continues his investigation and the
Phoenix troubleshooter soon realizes that the
latest bomb was triggered by remote control.
Furthermore, MacGyver surmises that Earl was
Prometheus's intended victim and that the bomber
must have been in "line of site" of the weapon.
The Phoenix troubleshooter initially believes
that Rachel is behind the bombings after learning
that Earl was recently bothered by an old cafe
bombing in which Rachel's hands were horribly
burned. However, MacGyver is soon led to a man
named Ralph Boardman: the occupant of the apartment
directly across from where Earl died. MacGyver
then proceeds to the bankrupt newspaper that
Boardman worked at only to end up trapped with
a bomb. Meanwhile, Boardman has planted a bomb
on Rachel since his girlfriend Victoria Arnold
was killed during the same cafe bombing that
had been bothering Earl. Of course, MacGyver
escapes from his trap and soon rescues Rachel
and captures Boardman.

As
the episode begins, MacGyver and bounty hunter
Frank Colton ("The Black Corsage") are trapped
in a building with a bomb while Frank's brother
Jesse (last seen in the fifth season episode
entitled "Second Chance") is being shot by a
counterfeiter named Deegan. Fortunately, a bulletproof
vest allows Jesse to capture Deegan and MacGyver
ingenuity (as well as Frog, the Colton's dog)
helps MacGyver and Frank escape from the bomb.
Later, Assistant District Attorney Johnny Denmark
hires the Colton brothers to locate a woman
known as Medusa, the only witness in a murder
allegedly committed in Chinatown by a mobster
known as Chi. The Colton brothers soon discovers
that Medusa's real name is Patricia Fielding
and Manna Colton ("Squeeze Play") then learns
that Patricia will be having lunch at her father's
yacht club. Overhearing Medusa's location, younger
Colton brother Billy (whose character was last
seen as part of MacGyver's dream in "Serenity")
disobeys his family and sneaks off to help his
older brothers. Fortunately, Billy's arrival
at the yacht club helps his two elder brothers
to escape from an attack by Chi's men. However,
although Medusa disappears in the confusion,
a phone call from Loretta Fielding (her concerned
mother) soon leads to a rendezvous at the boatyards
between the Colton brothers and Medusa. Unfortunately,
Denmark then reveals his true motives when he
informs Chi of Medusa's location. Thereby, Frank
and Jesse are captured and shot. Bulletproof
vests allow the two elder Colton brothers to
escape but in the meantime Billy arrives at
the boatyard and is captured. Fortunately, Mama
Colton soon arrives with the police, Billy is
rescued, and Chi and Denmark are arrested. Billy
is later overjoyed to learn that in the future
he will be allowed to help out his brother's
on a part-time basis. Note: MacGyver
only briefly appears in this episode which was
originally scheduled to air during the end of
the sixth season as a pilot for a possible "Coltons"
spin-off series.

When
student activist Cherine is kidnapped because
she protested against a Haitian extortion ring,
her aunt Denise calls on MacGyver for help.
Since a vodoo doll was tossed out of the kidnapper's
car, MacGyver soon enlists the aid of Mama Lorraine.
They soon visit a Doctor named Redemeteur and
learn that the neighborhood has been enthralled
by a former Haitian secret police officer named
Deveraux who is using the persona of vodoo legend
Baron Samde. With evidence from the vodoo doll,
MacGyver and Mama Lorraine are then led to the
Liberty Dam Power Station and the site of one
of Deveraux's ceremonies. Unfortunately, MacGyver
is captured and exposed to Deveraux's zombie
magic (actually blowfish poison). Using MacGyver's
condition as leverage, Deveraux then coerces
Mama Lorraine to perform a vodoo ceremony on
Cherine. (Mama Lorraine's involvement would
cement Deveraux's hold over the community.)
Fortunately, Mama Lorraine manages to sneak
a temporary cure to the Phoenix troubleshooter.
MacGyver escapes but is captured by Redemeteur
(who is working for Deveraux) after taking the
final cure. Fortunately, MacGyver manages to
evade Redemeteur and soon returns to the power
station where he captures Deveraux. MacGyver
then disguises himself as Baron Samde and, along
with Mama Lorraine, convinces the locals of
Deveraux's true intentions. Later, MacGyver
arranges for Cherine to testify in court against
the extortionists.

In the beginning of this two-part episode, MacGyver
and Pete are tracking the Phoenix troubleshooter's
lineage with the help of Dr. Irwin Malcolm.
In fact, Malcolm traces MacGyver's family back
to an Ian McIver of the 7th century. Supporting
Malcolm's claim is the fact that Ian, who died
while under wrongful captivity, had a son with
the same first name that MacGyver has. (MacGyver's
first name is continually hinted at but not
revealed until halfway through part II.) After
meeting with Malcolm, MacGyver suffers a head
wound while trying to save a man from a falling
flowerpot. The Phoenix troubleshooter then awakens
in Medieval England during the time of Camelot
and King Arthur. He then comes upon a duel between
the legendary Sir Galahad and another knight
named Duncan. When Galahad is injured, MacGyver
ends up taking the knight's place in the duel.
The Phoenix troubleshooter then manages to win
with the help of a quickly made rope lasso.
Afterwards, MacGyver is brought before King
Arthur. (Arthur, who was recently blinded as
a result of an attack from his half sister Morgana,
looks exactly like Peter Thornton.) Initially,
MacGyver is ostracized since his name is similar
to that of Ian Mclver, who is suspected of working
with evil Queen Morgana. However, after MacGyver
saves Arthur from some poison that the King
ingested, he gains the king's trust and is knighted.
Meanwhile, Merlin the magician is convicted
of the poisoning based on evidence that Duncan
has assembled. However, MacGyver believes Merlin
is innocent and begins to analyze the poison.
He soon discovers that the ore used in the poison
came from Queen Morgana's territory. MacGyver
then learns that Duncan is the only one that
has ever been in Morgana's land. Convinced of
Merlin's innocence, Arthur authorizes MacGyver
to stop Merlin from being burnt at the stake.
MacGyver saves Merlin with a quickly constructed
fire extinguisher but is unable to stop the
fleeing Duncan. Afterwards, MacGyver and Merlin
leave on a mission to rescue Cecilia (Galahad's
fiancée) from Queen Morgana's land, to find
out about a secret weapon that Morgana has constructed,
and to clear Ian McIver's name. They soon arrive
in Morgana's land but are led to a collapsing
bridge trap that leaves them clinging for their
lives over a flaming pit. Morgana then kills
Duncan and leaves MacGyver and Merlin to their
fate.

Continuing
the story began in part I: With the help of
his trusty Swiss army knife, MacGyver manages
to grip the edge of the bridge and pull Merlin
and himself to safety. After MacGyver and Merlin
bypass a vicious dog with the help of a MacGyver
constructed dog whistle, they manage to locate
Morgana's lab and her secret weapon: gunpowder
(which should not exist in the 7th century).
They then rescue Cecilia who affirms MacGyver's
contention that Ian Mclver is innocent. With
Cecilia's help, they soon locate Ian and learn
that the man's son is in hiding as a result
of the McIver name being banned. Unfortunately,
Ian dies before revealing the name of his son.
However, Cecilia remembers that Ian used to
write messages on the wall. Finally, after realizing
that the messages were written backwards, MacGyver
learns that Ian's son does have the same name
that he does: Angus. (And, after seven years,
MacGyver's mysterious first name is finally
revealed.) Unfortunately, Morgana arrives and
captures the trio. Then, while Morgana works
on perfecting a gun, MacGyver constructs a kite
and sends it into a lightning storm. At the
same time, he presents the pen knife to Merlin
as a gift. Morgana soon returns and tries to
shoot MacGyver but the evil queen is electrocuted
and the gunpowder supply is destroyed thanks
to MacGyver's kite. However, Morgana is still
alive and the evil queen shoots MacGyver in
the head. MacGyver awakens in the present where
he is being treated for a head wound (from the
flowerpot that hit him in part I). Then in a
scene reminiscent of "The Wizard of Oz," MacGyver
notices that the paramedic looks like Merlin,
the man he saved looks like Galahad, and the
man's wife is a dead ringer for Cecilia. MacGyver
is then stunned to notice that the paramedic
has a knife exactly like his whereas instead
of his knife, his pocket contains a momento
that Arthur gave him back in the 7th century.

surprised when one of the men sounds like Karl
Bankee, his deceased ex-partner. The two men
soon escape but not before leaving behind a
clue: some special effects equipment from Pinky's
old movie studio. MacGyver and Pinky proceed
to the studio only to be gassed by the thieves.
They awaken on a prop train track. However,
the crooks are distressed when the simulated
train fails to give Pinky a heart attack. Pinky
then learns the identity of his captor: Karl
Meredith, Karl Bankee's son. Karl, who blames
Pinky for his father's bankruptcy and therefore
wants to see the comedian die, then ties up
MacGyver and Pinky and drops them into a pool.

In
yet another episode in which MacGyver is drawn
into a troublesome situation by one of his friends,
Earl Dent (last seen in the sixth season episode
"High Control") requests aid from the Phoenix
troubleshooter. It seems that Dent has a 14
year old daughter and in order to gain custody,
he needs someone to testify on his behalf. MacGyver
serves as a character reference for Dent and
even goes so far as to provide a place for Dent
and his daughter to stay. Additionally, the
Phoenix troubleshooter decides to help Dent
train for a career in boxing since without a
stable job, Dent will not be allowed to keep
his daughter. Complicating matters is the fact
that Dent's daughter Veronica (or "Ronnie" as
she prefers to be known) has an attitude problem
and distrusts her long lost father. (Ronnie's
mother died five years previously.) MacGyver
uses his ingenuity to construct some gym equipment
and the training begins. Unfortunately, a man
named Riggins soon confronts Dent about taking
a dive in th upcoming boxing match. However,
Dent, who originally was going to take a dive
but now wishes to do the right thing for his
daughter's sake, refuses to take the dive. Dent
continues with his training and, with some help
from MacGyver, father and daughter start to
grow closer together. Unfortunately, when the
day of the big fight arrives, Riggins kidnaps
Ronnie as leverage to force Dent to throw the
fight. The fight begins and Dent reluctantly
starts to throw the fight. However, MacGyver
rescues Ronnie and brings her to the arena in
time for Dent to recover and win the fight.
Afterwards, based on the way he "worked the
crowd," Dent ends up being offered a lucrative
wrestling contract. Considering that this contract
will allow him to keep Ronnie, Dent quickly
accepts the change in his career.

is temporarily running the Challenger club when
he comes across a problem involving Brian Jeffries,
a reformed member of the Ice Boys gang. Since
the Challenger club is located in the territory
of the rival Oliver Street gang, Brian's presence
at the club brings the ire of Player G, the
Oliver gang's hostile leader. After Brian stops
the gang from harassing his younger brother
Kelvin, Player G promises revenge. The Oliver
Street gang's threat is soon realized when a
drive-by shooting results in the injury of Regina
Jeffries, Brian's mother. An upset Brian immediately
obtains a gun and runs after Player G. Unfortunately,
Brian arrives just as an arms deal goes sour
between the Oliver Street gang leader and a
former cop named Minton. Afterwards, although
Minton kills Player G, Brian is arrested for
the crime. MacGyver, believing Brian to be innocent,
decides to help the youth and soon traces the
arms dealer. However, Minton gains the upper
hand and the Phoenix troubleshooter is locked
up. Of course, MacGyver's imprisonment is only
temporary as the Phoenix troubleshooter soon
builds a missile and escapes. Meanwhile, Kelvin
Jeffries is contacted by the Ice Boys gang and
offered a chance to get revenge on the Oliver
Street gang. MacGyver then relocates Minton
only to be locked in the back of the gun runners
van. Minton then meets up with the Oliver Street
gang. The ice boys and Kelvin soon also arrive
on the scene. Fortunately, MacGyver escapes
and captures Minton. Then, with the help of
an arriving group of parents led by a recovered
Regina Jeffries, MacGyver manages to convince
the youths not to fight. As the episode ends,
Brian is cleared of all charges, and a new "green

to help to improve the neighborhood.

When

then agrees to help Lobo after Gloria Diaz,
the youth's grandmother, is evicted from one
of Kasanti's buildings. (She had refused to
pay the rent in hopes of prompting Kasanti to
make some much-needed repairs on the premises.)
MacGyver and Lobo soon visit Gloria's apartment
and find it difficult to understand how the
building managed to gain the approval of the
city's safety inspectors. Kasanti's men then
arrive on the scene, however, Lobo and MacGyver
are able to escape with pictures of the building's
safety hazards. Later, a friend of Gloria's
named Rose learns that Kasanti is working with
a man named Andrew Lawton and that Lawton is
involved in the construction of Hamilton Plaza.
(Once the project is completed, all the real
estate in the area will go up in value). Next,
MacGyver pays a visit on the department of building
and safety and learns that people that were
no longer employed by the city filed all of
the reports. After being informed of the problem,
Clinton Ferris, the director of building and
safety, agrees to investigate. Soon, after Rose
learns that Kasanti has an unnamed partner,
the slumlord contacts MacGyver and sets up a

site only to discover that Kasanti has been
murdered. Later, MacGyver sneaks into Kasanti's
office and then, with the help of a former forger
named Mo, discovers that all of the building
inspection reports were signed by Clinton Ferris,
Kasanti's silent partner. Unfortunately, Ferris
kidnaps Lobo and uses the youth as bait to capture
MacGyver. MacGyver and Lobo are then tied up
and left in the apartment building with a bomb.
However, MacGyver manages to free himself and

As
the final episode opens, MacGyver meets Chinese
student Tan Yee in a warehouse where illegally
imported products are being stored. In order
to support his claims, Tan Yee provides the
Phoenix troubleshooter with a videotape that
was shot at Camp Zero, a Chinese work camp where
the products were manufactured. (It is illegal
to import any slave produced products into the
United States.) Unfortunately, a group of men
then arrive in the warehouse and kill Tan Yee.
MacGyver only manages to escape thanks to the
help of SAM, a photojournalist (or "stringer")
who was hoping to follow the men to an Asian
importer named Chung. MacGyver and SAM then
bring the tape to Mei Jan (the Chinese student
activist that MacGyver met in the fifth season
episode "Children of Light"). Afterwards, MacGyver
learns that ten years ago, Chung (a former Chinese
colonel and the man allegedly responsible for
the Camp Zero imports) killed SAM's mother.
MacGyver is then somewhat surprised to learn
that SAM's mother is Katherine "Kate" Malloy,"
a woman that the Phoenix troubleshooter was
romantically involved with back in college.
SAM then reveals a picture of his father: MacGyver.
(Kate had never given SAM a name to go with
the picture.) Later, at the warehouse, all the
evidence is gone except, for a beetle. However,
based on a suggestion from SAM (who appears
to have his father's knack for science), Pete
begins to run some tests on the beetle as well
as a part that MacGyver had obtained during
his earlier visit. The Phoenix foundation soon
learns that the beetle and the part are from
the same province as Camp Zero. MacGyver and
SAM (whose initials stand for Sean "Angus" Malloy)
then have their first father-son argument when
SAM grabs a gun in order to take revenge on
Chung. As expected, MacGyver manages to convince
his son not to sink to Chung's violent level.
Unfortunately, Chung's men soon arrive and kidnap
Mei Jan. MacGyver and SAM proceed to Chung's
freighter and then free Mei Jan. However, feelings
of revenge overcome SAM who picks up a discarded
weapon and begins to approach Chung. MacGyver
is then shot when he warns SAM about one of
Chung's armed guards. Thereby, Chung is able
to capture SAM and MacGyver (who only suffered
an arm injury) and to lock them in the hull
of the freighter. Fortunately, SAM (who has
finally learned his lesson as well as the consequences
of his actions) and MacGyver escape and are
once again able to rescue Mei Jan. Then, when
Mei Jan grabs a gun and considers shooting Chung,
it is SAM who talks her out of it. Later, MacGyver
resigns from the Phoenix Foundation in order
to spend some time with his newly found son.
(It is strange how many woman MacGyver was involved
with during college. During the course of the
series, viewers learned about no less than four
college girlfriends: Amy Austin in "Flame's
End," Debra Easton in "The Road Not Taken,"
Karen Miller in "The Endangered," and Kate Malloy
in this episode.)

The
Mountain of Youth
[The Missing Episode]

Note:
Despite heavily promoting that "The Stringer",
the April 25th, 1992 episode of "MacGyver",
would be the final episode of the series, ABC
came back in May with "The Mountain of Youth",
a previously unaired episode. (It does appear
that this episode was actually filmed prior
to "The Stringer.")
When Jack Dalton's plane goes down in Cavelston,
a hostile third world country, MacGyver is sent
on a rescue mission. As the episode begins,
MacGyver parachutes into Cavelston and soon
locates Jack. The Phoenix troubleshooter then
prepares to leave the country, however, Jack,
who is searching for the fountain of youth,
manages to convince Mac to speak to Baba, the
religious leader of the local community. After
speaking to Baba as well as Mukti, Baba's extremely
youthful appearing "forty-two" year-old daughter,
MacGyver agrees to join Jack and Mukti on a
trip to a nearby spring. Once at the spring,
MacGyver and Jack are surprised to see some
soldiers pumping the spring's water through
a pumping station. Unfortunately, they are spotted
by the soldiers and as a result, a recently
arrived Baba is shot. Deciding to find out what
the soldiers are involved in, MacGyver drops
a tracer into the pumping station. Following
the tracer, MacGyver, Jack, and Mukti are soon
led to a heavy water plant. Inside, MacGyver
recognizes Dr. Liang, a Chinese scientist, and
notices that the soldiers are using the plant
to produce some of the materials needed to build
an H bomb. Realizing that they need proof about
the illegal plant, MacGyver then decides to
steal the video tape from the plant's security
system. Regrettably, Mac, Jack and Mukti are
captured and the tape is confiscated. Of course,
MacGyver then uses his ingenuity to recover
the tape and the Phoenix troubleshooter and
his comrades are able to escape; but not before
MacGyver backs up the hard water "plumbing"
and destroys the plant. Later, after meeting
with a recovering Baba, MacGyver and Jack prepare
to leave the country. Before leaving, however,
Jack, worrying about how his plans for the spring
would destroy the local culture, decides not
to bring back any samples of the mysterious
water.
