Take
The

reputation, is given a million dollar contract
with the 49ers, there’s one condition: he

Faces

(Liar Liar)
|
Our
Take
Brother’s
Keeper has a great time slot and fits
more in with the traditionally successful
TGIF fare than last year’s fantasy clones.
The only question is how well it will pull
teens (given the Sabrina lead-in) and
how important teens are versus families for
ABC
|
|
Expect
to Hear
Bobby
(explaining how he has been involved in numerous
altercations in bars): “I have troubles
in bars”
Porter (sarcastically): “I assume you’re
not referring to secondhand smoke”

Buddy

pack era. Unfortunately, when a woman
he loved was killed, he dropped out of sight.
Now, thanks to the efforts of a young detective
named Bob Jones, Buddy is back
|
|
The
pilot of seaquest DSV featured a
character (Bridger) who had dropped out
of sight (when the love of his life died)
and was now returning after a number of
years away

Faces

Farina (Crime Story), Frank Whaley
|
Our
Take
While
Buddy Faro has the potential of reaching
the same viewers as the proven Nash Bridges,
ABC’s TGIF must be reckoned with as well
|
|
Expect
to Hear
“If
people weren’t weak, vengeful, and petty,
we’d be out of a job. It’s our stock
in trade kid. Learn to appreciate
human frailty. The rest is just hiccups
and giggles”
- Buddy Faro

Familiar
Faces

|
Our
Take
ABC
has a lock on the youth audience and CBS has
proven successful with older adults with their
reality programming. Additionally, this
slot has always proven problematic for FOX
|
|
Expect
to Hear
“You
probably know a lot about the ‘hood…Matter of
fact, you probably have a big white pointy one
hanging in your closet”
- Curtis Cooper (responding to a bigoted comment)

NBC:
Friday at 8pm (Hour Drama)
|
|
Premise
Trinity
follows the drama of three brothers in a close-knit
Irish family. One of the brothers is
a priest, one is a cop (hoping to avenge the
death of a fourth deceased brother), and one
may be involved with the mob
[Note:
NBC is reportedly reshooting the pilot]
|
|
Our
Family Honor also told the story of families
with good and bad sons, mobsters, and a brother
out to avenge a dead sibling. Additionally,
on Wiseguy, one brother was a priest
and the other brother was a mobster (who was
really a cop) and, on Hunter, the main
character was a cop related to mobsters
